The official results, although corrected, still contain some oddities.  In addition, the race distance was well under 5K.

Newburyport Half Marathon, Newburyport - October 26, 2014

From Jill: It was a very scenic course through Newburyport and West Newbury, mostly through quiet country roads with lots of spectators.  The last mile was on a scenic rail trail that ended on a boardwalk along the ocean.

Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds 10K, Foxborough - October 25, 2014

From Mike: Ran in a 10k over the weekend in Foxborough and finished pretty consistently with where I have been this summer.  The race is put on by the Foxborough Regional Charter School and it is a good course.  Believe it overlaps some of the Foxboro 10 miler course.  Weather was perfect in the 50s at the start.  Good amount of volunteer support and water stops.  Good swag, l/s shirts, and refreshments before and after.  Only gripe I ever have is the awards are only one deep, which I wish they would change as I believe it does keep some runners away.

Cape Cod Half Marathon, Falmouth - October 25, 2014

From Sarah: The course is an out and back through parts of Falmouth all along the water, a little hilly in spots but overall, a nice, fast course.  Post race, there's ocean spray drinks, dunkins muffins and donuts, bananas and bags of kettle corn.  It was a beautiful, albeit very early, morning. Mile 8.7ish on the course had halloween candy too!
I really enjoyed running both the full (last year) and the half down there.  I've never loved the cape but now want to run down there all the time.
I didn't PR but I'm good with that!  Tim Greenan did though!!!
I did a 1:52:19. My goal for the four halfs in 28 days is to finish them all under 2 hours. My next one is at Shawnee Peak ski mountain in Maine - the moose pond half. The course runs by my street where our house in Maine is so it'll take all my willpower not to run home!!

BayState Marathon and Half, Lowell - October 19, 2014

Dawn completes her first marathon!

From Sarah: Good course and well supported!  I didn't mind the double loop on the half - it helped break the course up, in my opinion.  It was relatively flat but it was definitely windy!  TVFR had an awesome day out there!

Boston Firefighters 10K, Dorchester - October 19, 2014

From Mike: Ran a 10k today in Dorchester, the Boston Firefighters 10k.  It was just about 50 degrees and ran along the Nepponsett River.  Was a relatively flat course and well volunteered.  Lots of firefighters, fire trucks, Boston and State Police, and even a fire boat spraying water near the famous gas tank.  Lots of sport with an awesome after party and some retro fire trucks.  Looking forward to making this a regular stop on my fall racing calendar!

NU Hartford Half Marathon, Hartford, CT - October 11, 2014

From John: 6000 runners in the Half Marathon started with the Full Marathon runners in a cold rain that continued throughout the race.  This is a fast course with only a couple minor hills.  The problem with this race like many other large races is the bottlenecks early on.  For me, I ran the second half of the race sixteen minutes faster than the first half.  Still, despite the weather, a well run race with a lot of enthusiasm throughout.  Start up front if you want a good time!  This race was also the last of my New England states half marathons that myself, Scott, and Frank were trying to complete this year.  Ahh, exhale.

Smuttynose Half Marathon, Hampton Beach, NH - October 5, 2014

Chris sets a new PR by 19 minutes and Sarah misses one by 2 seconds!

From Sarah: This morning, Danny Finch, Chris Grilly and myself ran the Smuttynose Half marathon.  I can't say Hampton Beach is my favorite place in the area to run but it is relatively flat which is a good thing.  This is their annual rockfest so at the end, there was Smuttynose beer, lobster rolls and a live band.
