Unleashed by Petco Dash for Pet Cancer 5K, Wellesley - May 30, 2015

From Sarah: Nice trails but I'm definitely not a trail runner!  It was a really nice race for runners, runners with dogs, and walkers could enjoy the mostly non-technical trails.  There were tons of giveaways for people and dogs too!
I was 2nd female without a dog!

Salomon Trail Running Festival, New Gloucester, ME - May 24, 2015

Sherry and I participated in the Salomon Trail Running Festival at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, ME this past weekend.  I ran the 50 Miler and Sherry ran the 50k.  I ran out of gas and Sherry PR'ed.  The results have Sherry in place 225 but that was because she opted for the early start.  The 50k started 2 hours after the 50M but 50k runners could start earlier with the 50M runners.  Early start runners were not eligible for awards so they were placed after the final 50k finisher who started on-time and not in the order they actually finished.  Sherry actually finished 199th and 7th AG.

Shape Up for Boston, Hingham - May 10, 2015

From Andrew: A nice low key race in beautiful Wompatuck State Park.  The race was actually 3.53 miles after management had to make some last minute changes to the course, so I actually got in a good run.  South Shore Race Management does a great job putting on races and I would encourage everyone to look at their schedule as they have some great races lined up.  It got hot towards the end and it was a moderately challenging course.  This was the highest I've placed in a race since 2010.  The best part of the race for me is when I came to the finish line and my 4 month old daughter and wife were waiting for me.  This was my daughters first time she ever saw me run and It was such a great feeling to see them supporting me.  The last two weeks have certainly given me confidence that I still can be competitive in races no matter how large or small.  I look forward to getting ready for my next race on Memorial Day.  Hope everyone had a great Mothers Day!

Delaware Marathon, Wilmington, DE - May 10, 2015

From John: It was warm, low 70s, and very humid.  Race was very well organized with about 2000+ participants and included a half, full, 4 person relay and 8 person relay.  The marathon course was scenic and surprisingly hilly, nothing severe just long, double half marathon loop that started and finished at the Wilmington riverfront.  There was plenty of food at the finish plus 2 free beers if you desired.

William Pasquantonio Memorial 5K, Randolph - May 2, 2015

From Andrew: My First race for Tri-Valley in almost 10 years!  It's great to be back running for the club again.  This was also my first race since last December, so I wasn't really knowing what to expect.  I really just wanted to finish.  I know it sounds crazy coming from someone who has over 20 years of running experience, but I've learned not to set the bar too high when starting up again.  My wife and I just welcomed our beautiful daughter Amelia this January so as you can imagine it's a huge adjustment, but it's just nice to be racing again.  This was a flat and fast course and I encourage all of you to mark this on your calendar.  It's a nice race honoring a young man who died a few years ago.  The race was well organized and results went up right away.  My splits were negative the last 2 miles, so I really can't complain.  This is a starting block building for the Downtown 5k coming up in Providence this September.  Maybe I will see some of you on the roads soon! Have fun running!
