Ghost Train Rail Trail Race, Brookline, NH - October 26, 2013

John wins the 60-mile race!

From John: The course is a 7.5 mile out and back; about 6.5 miles along a rail trail and in the woods and a mile of paved road. The race tracks any multiple of 15 miles: 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, plus a 5 mile out and back for 100 miles. The cutoff time is 30 hours and you’re permitted to keep running after 100 if time allows and you so desire.
I was hoping to complete the full 100 but an injury around 30 miles forced me to slow quite a bit and eventually stop at 60 miles.

BayState Half Marathon, Lowell - October 20, 2013

From Tim: The weather was perfect, sunny high 50s – low 60s with a slight breeze.  This was my first half marathon and my goal was to finish in under 2 hours.  My finish time was 1:57:41 and I placed 692 out of 1558 and 66 out of 95 in my age group.  I was thrilled with the result and look forward to improving my time in my next half.

10th Annual Houghton's Pond Trail Race, Milton - October 6, 2013

From Rawson: For the second year in a row, this 6.2 mile race through the Blue Hills was held in cool damp weather.  Slippery wet leaves in places made the already challenging course a little tougher, but hey, that's part of the fun of trail racing.
