TVFR Grand Prix Race Series 2022 - 2023

We will return to having one TVFR Grand Prix race series this year, with (generally) two races each month from October 2022 through September 2023.  Awards will be handed out at our Annual Banquet in November 2023.

Rules and Details

1. You must be a current TVFR member to score in a particular race.
2. For each race, you must sign up on the TVFR site no later than 36 hours after the race start (but please sign up before the race if possible to ensure being scored promptly).
3. Points will be awarded based on age-graded times for your age (in years) as of the race date.  An explanation of the age grading system can be found here.  Calculator
4. For fixed-time (as opposed to fixed-distance) races, we will use the age-grading factors for a comparable distance (e.g. 50K factors for a 6-hour race).
5. Genders will be scored separately.
6. Points will be awarded as follows - 1st place - 15 points, 2nd place - 14 points, and so on.  In the event of a tie, both (or more) runners will receive the same point number of points; the following runner will receive one point less.  No runner will receive fewer than 5 points.
7. Most months we will have two (or possibly) more races.  You can run more than one race but will only receive points for the highest-scoring one.  Your "unused" points are not assigned to the next place finisher.
8. Your scores from your ten (10) best months in each series will be summed to create your season total for that series.
9. Trophies/prizes will be awarded at our annual banquet to the top 5 male and female runners in each series.
10. The results will be posted on this website.  If you do not see your name in the results or believe your results are incorrect, please contact Rawson Chaplin as soon as possible.
